his couple spent time at the the first HIV/AIDS clinic in the U.S., now referred to as “Ward 5B.” One was a nurse, and the other was a patient. More than two decades later, they’re still making sure this story is being told.
“This president is no ally of people living with HIV, who are disproportionately LGBTQ and people of color," the Democratic National Committee said.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
On the eve of World AIDS Day, hundreds of HIV organizations released a federal action roadmap to end the epidemic by 2025.
As Indiana governor, he responded to a horrifying health crisis with prayer instead of needle exchanges.
“Our hope is that by sharing their stories with one another, we can show that there is life beyond HIV," said Positively Aware editor-in-chief Jeff Berry.
The president's tribute to those living with HIV felt lacking at best.
Over 8000 of them have been donated to date.
The couple will meet with people living with HIV and AIDS on World AIDS Day.
