The actor and Anderson Cooper had a very emotional conversation about family members who have died by suicide.
The actor said the horror of her mother's death will only worsen if the details are disclosed under a law that allows police reports to be made public.
The “Berlin Station” star said she's come to accept that her mother had been "doing the best she could" despite "untreated mental illness” during her lifetime.
The actor, who was visibly emotional, told "Good Morning America" that she had been "deputized" to speak for her family.
“I'm sorry that she couldn't hang on until today.” Wynonna and Ashley Judd tearfully honored their mother as the Judds joined the Country Music Hall of Fame.
“I’m sorry that she couldn’t hang on until today,” a sobbing Ashley Judd said at the ceremony a day after her mom's death.
The Judds were to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday.
"When I got to South Africa my leg didn’t have a pulse," Judd said of her potentially life-threatening accident and rescue.
“We’re going to rebuild and reset and come back in a way that honors our mandate, incorporates the voices of our critics, learns from our findings," Ashley Judd said.
Winter, the prosthetic-tailed dolphin, is now in critical condition from a suspected infection.
