When Are The Oscars?

When are the Oscars, you ask? Great question: The 86th Academy Awards ceremony will take place Sunday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

The red carpet will begin at 7 p.m. EST on ABC as well.

Ellen DeGeneres will be your Oscars host this year for the second time, after hosting in 2007.

Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are expected to spread some star dust at the big event, as will Lupita Nyong'o, June Squibb, Jared Leto and Cate Blanchett, among others.

Last year, 40 million people watched the Academy Awards, an increase of one million from the year before. Here's hoping for an upwards trajectory come March 2.
