DETROIT — Brother Stephen Baker, 62, a Catholic friar who in the 1980s called Metro Detroit home, committed suicide with a knife Saturday.

Last week Baker was named in a legal settlement with 11 men who claimed they were sexually assaulted by Baker at an Ohio high school in the 1980s; and in total, more than 80 total alleged victims from Ohio and Pennsylvania have made molestation claims, according to the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.
