President Donald Trump became a laughingstock on Twitter with yet another embarrassing typo on Wednesday morning.
This time, Trump twice wrote “forrest” instead of “forest” in a rant about the management of the wildfires that spread across California late last year:
He later deleted the post and replaced it with this one, which corrects the misspellings:
Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 9, 2019
Trump’s gaffe was inevitably picked up by Twitter users, who responded with clips of the hit 1994 movie “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks.
I was thinking Gump. Forrest Trump.

TFW you're imagining a Trump biopic remake of Forrest Gump directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Steve Mnuchin so vividly you have to sit down

“RUN FORREST TRUMP RUN!”

Forrest Trump- I cant! I have bone spurs.

We would expect nothing less from a man who can't spell forest.

Someone in Trump’s address book must be called Forrest, or does he truly think it’s spelled like that? pic.twitter.com/AD4FyLiAqt

“Life is like a box of sealed indictments. You never know what you gonna get.”
- Forrest Trump
Forrest Management gave us Elvis’s dance, Watergate, Bubba Shrimp, Apple, the lyrics to Imagine and those Have A Nice Day T-shirt’s. Trump is right here. Could definitely handle some fires. https://t.co/2Bb5klFPaf

Forrest Trump.

Sorry, that was low hanging fruit. https://t.co/iqhifyVF04

This story has been updated to note that Trump reposted his tweet with the misspellings fixed.
