Lifetime network's highly anticipated premiere of the new " Steel Magnolias" is a few days away, but the dazzling all African-American cast gathered in New York City Wednesday night to fete the made-for-TV remake of the iconic 1989 film.

Queen Latifah, who produced the movie and stars in the film as M'Lynn, graced the red carpet in a black, asymmetrical Marina Rinaldi dress accessorized with a statement necklace and black pumps. She opted for a high bun and minimal makeup to complete the sleek look.

"Pariah" leading actress, Vanity Fair cover girl and now "Steel Magnolia" star Adepero Oduye donned a gorgeous cream-hued Grecian gown for the evening's festivities.

Jill Scott, who plays Truvy the role originally played by Dolly Parton, stepped out in a champagne colored sequin frock. And we love any chance we get to see the singer-cum-actress rocking her natural tresses, which she did Wednesday night and on the cover of Essence's October issue. Alfre Woodard also turned heads in sequins and paired her eye-catching dress with flat gold sandals.

Mother and daughter duo, Phylicia Rashad and Condola Rashad star in the film as well, so the ladies were definitely on hand for the premiere celebration. Phylicia kept it simple in a wine colored blouse, matching skirt and sheer long-sleeve jacket, while Condola wore an elaborately embroidered cocktail dress.

Check out the lovely "Steel Magnolias" cast and a few other celebs that celebrated last night.
