Austin, Texas, United States, North America

These are some Latino names you'll want to remember.

"The Social Revolución," an event at the South by Southwest Interaction Festival in Austin, announced its award winners on Thursday, a day before the conference kicks off. With awards in three categories, the Social Revolución honors the achievements of emerging and established voices in the Latino community who are making an impact online.

Check out the winners below:

Axel Cabellero (@axelwcaballero) is the director and producer of Cuéntame (@MyCuentame), a nonprofit media company covering Latino issues, as well as a driving force behind Spanish-language news blog Metáfora Política.

Joaquin Guerra, a digital strategist, used his professional know-how to tell the story of Argentine immigrant Walter Lara -- a man who came to the United States as a child but found himself forced to return to the country of his birth.

Mi Vida Tec with Rosas Alonso (@MiVidaTec) uses social media to share digital and lifestyle news among Latino audiences.

Looking to build your own app? Magaly Chocano launched Swebapps to do precisely that.

Viviana Hurtado (@vivianahurtado), an award-winning journalist (and HuffPost blogger), and founder of the Wise Latina Club.

Laura Donnelly Gonzalez and Alicia Rascon have used their nonprofit organization Latinitas to empower more than 20,000 young Hispanics.

Dream Activist (@DREAMActivist). A collective of undocumented students spreading stories and information through social media, with the goal of passing the DREAM Act, defending immigrant rights, and spreading tolerance.

In addition to those awards, the Social Revolución honored the DREAMers, as a collective, with the 2013 Líder of the Revolución award, saying:

These Líderes demonstrate that being Americano is not defined by where you were born. Undocumented and unafraid, DREAMers have uniquely used social media and their online voice to strengthen their advocacy strategies and create opportunities that reflect our modern reality.

Our congrats to the winners! Of course, these weren't the only names worthy of mention this year. Check out the full list of 170 nominees at the Social Revolución's website.
