As 2012 came to a close, the city's holiday parties seemed to be as crazily, wonderfully fractured as Miami these days -- from an old-school dance party in gritty Wynwood (Miami's version of NoLita in the 1990s), to a hipster New Year's Eve house party in the Upper Biscayne Corridor (featuring a pair of eight-year-old girl DJs in paper tiaras), to the requisite Ugly Sweater Party at Miami Beach's trendiest hotel du jour, Freehand Miami, in the former Indian Creek Hotel (circa 1936) -- a youth hostel designed by Roman & Williams, the talented team behind The Standard NY and Ace Hotel in Manhattan.
