'Life With La Toya': Jackson Sister Talks About Her Pact With Brother Michael And Kathy Hilton (VIDEO)

WATCH: La Toya Jackson's Pact With Michael

Her entire life, La Toya Jackson says, she's done what everyone else wanted her to do. When her father wanted her to join the famous Jackson family in show business, La Toya did. When her manager pushed her to pose for Playboy, La Toya did. With everything from her music to her career choices, the middle Jackson sibling has taken a back seat in the decision-making. "Someone else has been pulling the strings… until now," she says in this clip. "Things are about to change."

La Toya is starting over and doing things her own way, from possibly adopting a child to dating to moving into her dream home. And it all unfolds on the new OWN series "Life with La Toya."

In this five-minute sneak peek from the show, the "Celebrity Apprentice" star and singer moves into a hotel so she can begin searching for her dream home -- but it's not quite what La Toya expected. "It's a little small, but it'll work out," she says of her room. "It will be fine... Maybe I can do something with this furniture."

To make the hotel room look more in line with her grand style, La Toya brings along a few opulent décor items to set up throughout the space. Another priority for the pop star? Cleanliness. La Toya has her new assistant, Leilani, wipe down all the light switches, knobs, faucets, handles and remote controls, and also cover the couches with king-size bed sheets. "I'm definitely not germophobic," La Toya says in the clip. "I just like for things to be super clean."

Later, La Toya's best friend -- Paris Hilton's mother, Kathy Hilton -- shows up. "Kathy and I have [known] each other since we were 14 years old," La Toya explains. "One of my earliest memories with Kathy is the pact that we all made. It was between myself, [my brother] Michael and Kathy. And we all said that we were going to have children and we were going to name them Paris. She had a child, she named [her] Paris. And then Michael had a child, and he named his child Paris. And then, of course, I never had kids. So I named my dog Paris!"

Get to know the real La Toya Jackson on the series premiere of "Life with La Toya," airing Saturday, April 13, at 10:30 p.m. ET on OWN.
