Lady Gaga Responds To Demi Lovato, Says Vomit Performance Was Not About Eating Disorders

Lady Gaga has responded to Demi Lovato's criticism that the use of vomit during her SXSW show was "glamorizing eating disorders." In an interview with E! News, Gaga said her incorporation of performance artist Millie Brown was meant to express "rage and pain," but had "absolutely nothing to do with any eating disorder."

“I have struggled with an eating disorder for over 10 years, and I take that very seriously,” Gaga said. “I take the struggle of others very seriously.

Brown also responded to Lovato's backlash. "I can understand why people would make that association, but my performance really is not a statement about eating disorders themselves," she told MTV News. "It's like using my body to express myself. I think a lot of people understand that I'm not trying to punish myself and my body in that way."
