Chef Graham Elliot Says He Couldn't Be The 'Big, Fun, Round, Jolly Guy' Anymore

Celebrity Chef Graham Elliot On His Dramatic 150-Pound Weight Loss

When "MasterChef" judge and restauranteur Graham Elliot saw 400 pounds on the scale, he knew it was time for a change.

Elliot spoke with HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps about his dramatic transformation. Graham said his weight was holding him back from his family.

"I had a new baby and just realized that I wasn’t able to contribute to the family as much," Elliot said. "[I wasn't] even able to get down on the ground and change diapers, or play with my kids at the park, help my wife Allie out doing anything."

He said that he couldn't accept his life as the "happy eating chef" on the show anymore and subsequently underwent weight-loss surgery. Since then, the chef has lost 150 pounds and has a strict workout routine, which will include running a half-marathon in July.
