'Free Agents' Canceled: NBC Axes Second Show Of Season

'Free Agents' Canceled

NBC axed its new comedy "Free Agents" on Thursday after several weeks of poor ratings.

The workplace comedy, which stars Hank Azaria, was canceled after drawing just a 1.0 rating with viewers ages 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers on Wednesday night. Deadline notes that the show did not improve after similarly disappointing ratings last week.

"Free Agents" is the second show to be canceled this season, after "The Playboy Club." NBC has been the only network to cancel new programs this fall thus far.

The news also presents more troubles for Hank Azaria, who is in negotiations over pay cuts as a voice actor on "The Simpsons."

NBC's Wednesday 8:30 p.m. time slot is still up in the air.
