12-Year-Old Girl Repeatedly Sexually Assaulted At Chicago School, Lawsuit Alleges

Lawsuit: 12-Year-Old Was Repeatedly Sexually Assaulted At School

The father of a 12-year-old girl filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court Monday claiming that his daughter was repeatedly sexually abused by classmates at her Chicago school.

The victim, referred to in court paperwork as Jane Doe, is a student at Pullman Elementary School, where the assaults allegedly took place, the Chicago Tribune reports. The lawsuit claims that the student was "lured" into a closet by two classmates and sexually assaulted on numerous occasions.

The lawsuit blames the Chicago Board of Education and school officials for negligence, claiming that they failed to live up to their duty to protect her and the assaults could have been prevented, CBS reports.

“Sexual relations, during school hours, amongst pre-teens does not occur without the existence of negligent supervision,” the lawsuit states.

The father is asking for damages in excess of $100,000, CBS reports.
