Sarah Michelle Gellar Returning To 'All My Children'

Sarah Michelle Gellar Returns Home 'All My Children'

Before she was Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar got her start playing Kendall, the spoiled daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) on the daytime soap "All My Children." And now it looks like Gellar is heading back home to Pine Valley before the soap comes to an end on daytime television.

The actress confirmed the news at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, revealing that she'll be taking a one day break from filming her new CW show "The Ringer" to head back to Pine Valley.

But don't expect Gellar to resume her role as Kendall.

"I have no idea what I'm doing or who I'm playing. I told them I don't want to be Kendall; that's Alicia's [Minshew] role now," she said Thursday. "I just wanted to be a part of it. I have no idea what I’m going to do, so we can take suggestions, but I will be doing one day. I’m excited."

Gellar won a daytime Emmy for her role as Kendall in 1995. "All My Children" will leave ABC on Sept. 23. But daytime fans don't fret--it will move to a new, online home in 2012.
