Mildred Patricia Baena Speaks To 'Hello!' Magazine: Calls Arnold Schwarzenegger 'A Good Man'

Mildred Patricia Baena Breaks Silence About Schwarzenegger: 'He’s A Good Man'

Arnold Schwarzenegger may have known he fathered a son with Mildred Patricia Baena, his long-time housekeeper, but if he did, he never mentioned it--at least not to Baena. Likewise, Baena never told the former Governor that he was the father of her son Joseph.

This, according to an exclusive interview Baena, 50, recently gave with Hello! magazine, on newsstands in the U.K. now.

While others have spoken out in the wake of the scandal--last month, Baena's estranged husband expressed his feelings of betrayal to Entertainment Tonight, and Baena's daughter Jackie Roso stood up for her mother on the Spanish-language network Telemundo--Baena herself has remained silent, even as her Bakersfield, California, home was swarmed by reporters.

In what the publication is billing as Baena's first and only interview about the scandal, she also opens up about Maria Shriver's reaction to the news: “[Maria] was so strong. She cried with me ... We held each other and I told her it wasn’t Arnie’s fault, that it takes two" (Baena tells the magazine that Shriver sensed the child may have been Schwarzenegger's for a while before finally confronting Baena, her housekeeper of 20 years).

Joseph, the boy at the center of the controversy, now 13, had a slightly different reaction. "Cool!" Baena says he exclaimed, upon learning the news. Schwarzenegger's kids with Maria Shriver have also responded in their own ways, with 17-year-old Patrick changing his last name on Twitter to Shriver, and 21-year-old Katherine Tweeting her support of the family. The couple's two other children have not spoken publicly, nor have the couple aside from their respective statements.
