Nancy Davis Foundation Raises Money For MS With Royal Wedding Dress Replica

MS Foundation Auctions Off Royal Wedding Dress Replica

When Nancy Davis learned that her foundation's 18th Annual Race to Erase MS gala was on the same day as the royal wedding, she took it in stride.

Davis decided to combine the two occasions into an event called Rock and Royalty to Erase MS, Hollyscoop reports. Then she had another idea.

"And then I thought... wouldn't it be fun to have that wedding gown here?"

She asked founder and design director of A.B.S., Allen Schwartz, to design a wedding gown inspired by Kate Middleton's, and they auctioned it off on charitybuzz.com to benefit the foundation. The winning bidder will get to have the gown customized to her body.

The Race to Erase MS event is the principle fundraising effort of the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis; proceeds benefit the Nancy Davis Center Without Walls program. This year's event raised more than $2 million, and the annual event has raised over $30 million to date for multiple sclerosis research.
