It's a good thing you don't need the luck of the Irish to find foot-stompin' Celtic music on St. Patrick's Day. With the music (and Guinness pints) overflowing from these bars -- arm yourself with your best greens -- you're going to be in for a jolly good time.
Chief O'Neill's Pub: If your phone number spells out IRE-LAND, then we know you're serious. With a slew of acts planned on a leprechaun's favorite holiday, get here early (doors at 10am), or at least before the cover charge kicks in at 4pm. While you won't want to pass up a quick stop in the outdoor heated tent that's filled with Irish delicacies (fish-and-chips, for a start), the Irish music (and dancers) will be the main attraction. Abbey Pub: If you still haven't snapped back from Saturday's festivities, you're doomed. Ditch work and enter the Abbey Pub at 8am on St. Paddy's Day, where a telecast from Ireland will feature Gaelic football and hurling. Stick around for the live music that begins at 1pm, and make your way up front. Listen to Larry Nugent, Danny Burns, Mulligan Stew, bagpipers Shannon Rovers and 99 Bottles, an Irish-folk outfit that creates the perfect atmosphere to nibble on that Shepherd's pie you really want to order. $10 cover. 3420 W. Mystic Celt: If you didn't catch Matisyahu's performance last year at the Mystic Celt, you can make it up to yourself this year. Paint your face green and line up outside before the doors open at 9am. When you finally make your way in, you can order the house specialty: an Irish cocktail named "Paddy Ginger." WXRT will be on hand for another rendition of the ShamRock & Roll, this time featuring Buddy Guy.
