Eli Manning On Jay Cutler Criticism: 'It's The Media's Job' To Tweet About Other Players

Eli Manning Scolds Jay Cutler's Critics

After several players and former players ripped Jay Cutler on twitter after he left the NFC Championship game in the third quarter, others have recently started to defend the Chicago Bears quarterback.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning went on ESPN Radio New York with The Michael Kay Show on Friday and condemned Cutler's critics and criticized them for tweeting their comments.

"The whole tweet thing, that kinda bothered me more than what happened in the game with Jay Cutler," Manning said. "If you're at home, watching the game, and you're an NFL player, you shouldn't be allowed to tweet on anyone's performance."

He went on to say that it's the job of the media and fans to tweet about other players.

Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers also defended Cutler this week, calling the criticism "disrespectful." Charles Barkley said it was wrong to question Cutler's toughness.

After Green Bay won the NFC title, it was reported that Cutler suffered from a sprained MCL.

Sports Radio Interviews transcribed Manning's interview and you can listen to it here.
