Name: Ed RothLocation: Williamsburg -- Brooklyn, New YorkSize: 850 square feetYears lived in: 2½ years -- owned

As the gifted mastermind and author behind several books on the art of stenciling, Ed Roth combines his love of street art and vintage-rustic furniture in the cool and unruffled interior of his Williamsburg loft.

As the owner and designer of Stencil 1, Ed's work as been featured on Apartment Therapy many times in the past. He's created several how-to books on the art of stenciling, including Stencil 101 and Stencil 101 Decor, which feature ways to customize walls, floors and more using Ed's patented stencil techniques. But in his two-floor loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Roth keeps the walls simple, opting for a relaxed, grey color palatte and incorporating his works as clever, tucked away accessories throughout the decor -- like Dolly the sheep, who greets you in the entryway and a recreation of his mother's high school portrait amongst other personalized curio on the bookshelf.

Ed's home, which he shares with his spunky black labrador, Larry, is a sophisticated mix of raw and rugged furniture pieces and clean and contemporary furniture. With experience in decorative painting and graphic design, Roth credits much of his design aesthetic to his exposure to street art and his love of design books.
