Senior Congressional Correspondent Ryan Grim appeared on "News Nation" Wednesday to talk about Proposition 19, California's ballot initiative to legalize marijuana.

Grim told host Tamron Hall that while Prop 19 supporters have succeeded in gathering campaign donations from high profile donors like George Soros and PayPal co-founder Peter Theil, the initiative faces diminishing support.

Grim explained that historically, similar attempts to legalize marijuana have been hurt by voters who developed cold feet as election day approached.

Grim suggested that while Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman might not win the governor's race, she may succeed in defeating Prop 19. Whitman's $140 million campaign could draw conservative voters to the polls and hurt the initiative's chances.
