As stormy weather blows the pretty leaves off the trees at a rapid pace, we suggest taking in those fall colors while you still can. If you are looking to escape Chicago this weekend, one place to do just that is Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
One reason this weekend is a good one for Geneva is the First Annual Beer And Spirits Event, which takes place Saturday Oct. 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For $40, you can have an unlimited tastings of 25 Midwest craft breweries. If you're the designated driver, you get a special discounted ticket for $10 which includes unlimited soda and bottled water.
The event takes place in the lower level of the Lodge at Geneva Ridge. There will also be some specialty food vendors to help balance the booze.
