Rob Hussey's Home In Santa Monica Canyon

PHOTOS: Designer Rob Hussey Puts His $7.25 Million Home On Market

Via Curbed LA: This Santa Monica home is a collaboration between designer/builder Rob Hussey and architect Melinda Gray, principal at the Santa Monica firm Gray Matter Architecture. The listing shows that 700 Kingman is "Rob Hussey's latest," while Gray's GrayMatter firm is known for their construction of residences, shops (Planet Blue), and even a school (Westside Waldorf School).

Curbed LA notes (snarky, but true!): "this house might have every trendy SFR element of the last twenty years: glass catwalk; finished concrete hearths, countertops, and sinks; black bamboo floors; saline pool and Koi pond; and of course a 450 pound pivoting teak door."

The official listing describes the home as "edgy, eclectic," and while it may not be the cuddliest single family residence, the exposed wood beam ceilings, subtly-colored concrete, and lots of natural light showcase a softer side to the industrial (steel) aesthetic. The home has five bedrooms, four baths, and comes with skylights, a concrete wine wall, and even a bamboo garden complete with waterfalls.

Available for sale at $7.25 million or lease at $24,500/month.
