Anthony Bourdain On 'Morning Joe': Professional Foodie Talks His New Book, Food Porn, And Celebrity Chefs (VIDEO)

Anthony Bourdain, professional bad-boy foodie and host of the show "No Reservations," came on to "Morning Joe" this morning to talk about his new book, "Medium Raw." The book comes a decade after his first bestseller, "Kitchen Confidential," and Bourdain says the food world has changed significantly since then. People have become obsessed with "food porn," he said. Why? "I don't really know, maybe they're just not having enough sex." He also noted a trend in restaurants for chefs to cook the food that they really love as opposed to what's currently "in" -- this new cuisine is "kind of stoner food," he said.

Host Mika Brzezinski stumbled into tough territory when she suggested that celebrity chefs have a responsibility to model healthy eating to their viewers. Bourdain, who often criticizes vegetarians on his show and looks for delicious street food above all else, was not on board with the suggestion. Chefs are "in the pleasure business," he said -- "I don't think they are your dietician, your ethicist." At Brzezinski's surprise, Bourdain replied, "You're asking the wrong guy."
