Jan Brewer Ad Blasts Obama Over Arizona Border Signs Amid Immigration Law Uproar (VIDEO)

Arizona Republican Gov. Jan Brewer is unleashing a fierce line of attack on President Obama in a new web video over the placement of new warning signs near the state's border with Mexico.

The signs -- being established in Arizona's desert recreation area south of Interstate 8 -- read:

  • Active Drug and Human Smuggling Area
  • Visitors May Encounter Armed Criminals and Smuggling Vehicles Traveling at High Rates of Speed
  • Stay Away From Trash, Clothing, Backpacks and Abandoned Vehicles
  • If You See Suspicious Activity, Do Not Confront! Move away and call 911

Brewer, who has found herself at odds with the Obama administration since she signed a controversial immigration bill into law, appears alongside one of the new border signs and doesn't hold back.

"This is an outrage," Brewer charges in the minute-long spot. "Washington says our border is as safe as it has ever been. Does this look safe to you?"

The Arizona Republican hurls a direct shot at President Obama: "Washington is broken, Mr. President. Do your job. Secure our borders. Arizona and the nation are waiting."

Despite Brewer's attack however, local Arizona station KPHO reports that the idea to put up the new border signs didn't originate with the Obama administration even though they were set up by the federal government:

The signs were suggested by rangers who work the area after a rash of violence and shootings related to drug and human smugglers, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

Moreover, the Obama administration recently ordered thousands of National Guard troops be sent to the the U.S.-Mexico border to boost security.
