Mom's Birth Announcement For Transgender Son Is Something To Celebrate

Mom Retracts Birth Announcement 19 Years Later For Truly Incredible Reason

All birth announcements are meant to be celebrated, but an ad written by one Australia mom for her 19-year-old transgender son is particularly special.

Yolanda Bogert, of Jimboomba, recently took out an ad in the birth section of Australia's Courier-Mail newspaper for her son, Kai, who came out to her as transgender last week. The ad was a combination retraction, announcement and symbol of love.

The post went viral on social media after it was tweeted on Monday night by a Queensland resident and then retweeted thousands of times.

Yolanda told the Courier-Mail that writing the announcement was a "no-brainer."

“I needed to show my son I support him 100 per cent and wanted to let the world know that," she added.
