Ian Kinsler Smiled And Waved To His Former Team After Hitting A Homer (VIDEO)

Tigers Star Trolls Former Team After Home Run

Ian Kinsler was "just having fun" in his first game back in Arlington, Texas against his former team. In his very first at-bat in his homecoming game against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, the Detroit Tigers second baseman crushed a solo home run to the seats in left field. As he started jogging around the bases, Kinsler waved to some of his former teammates in the Rangers dugout with a big smile on his face.

While Kinsler said after Detroit's 8-2 win that the wave "was nothing personal," Texas starting pitcher Colby Lewis didn't appreciate the gesture.

"I know him and I enjoyed playing with him, but I guess 'disappointed' is the best word to describe it. Maybe it's how he feels about how things ended up here and that's his opinion," Lewis told James Schmehl of MLive.com.

After spending eight years with the Rangers, the team traded the three-time All-Star to Detroit for slugger Prince Fielder after the 2014 season. More than three months after the deal, Kinsler was quoted in an ESPN The Magazine article criticizing Rangers general manager Jon Daniels and saying he hoped his former team would go "0-162" in 2014. When details about the interview with Robert Sanchez of ESPN The Magazine leaked, Kinsler claimed his comments "were taken a little out of context."
