Nicole Richie is returning to reality TV, but she is definitely not the same girl that you watched ditz-it-up with Paris Hilton on "The Simple Life."
Richie is bringing her often acerbic and perpetually sassy wit to VH1 with #CandidlyNicole, a half-hour reality show based on her acclaimed Twitter feed and wildly popular AOL web series.
The series will follow Richie throughout her daily life as she provides commentary on everything from family to fashion to business. Since her "Simple Life" days, Richie has acted on and off while immersing herself in non-profit work, a fashion career and family life.
“Viewers will enjoy her unique point of view and earnest look at pop culture as well as her fearless exploration of anything and everything taboo,” says VH1 EVP of Original Programming and Development, Susan Levison. Anyone who's followed Richie's transformation from wild child to philanthropist/responsible mother and wife knows that growing older has only made her bolder, and that she's never afraid to voice her opinion.
VH1 and the whole realm of reality television is about to get a lot more fabulous.
#CandidlyNicole will premiere on July 17.
