Full disclosure here: Growing up, we always kind of wished "Cosby Show" mom Claire Huxtable would be our second mom. From her sweet-but-stern approach to parenting, to her inimitable ability to lay down the law with her daughter's boyfriends, Claire was clearly the kind of mom you wanted in your corner.
The woman behind the character, Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad, is pretty damn formidable herself -- a fact we were reminded of Thursday when this letter to her younger self made the rounds on Instagram.
The quote -- which originally appeared in a 2006 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine -- is the kind of relationship advice we so wish someone would have relayed to us early on in our lives:
