Girlfriend Allegedly Helps Boyfriend Slit Her Mom's Throat

A teenaged couple in Florida are accused of attempting to murder the girlfriend's mom because she didn't want them dating, police said.

The 13-year-old girl allegedly lured her mother into the family's garage in Ocala early Sunday where her 15-year-old boyfriend slit the mom's throat with a kitchen knife that his girlfriend gave him, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Before nearly killing her with the blade, the boyfriend allegedly rebuked the mom for meddling in their relationship and said he could take care of her daughter.

The boyfriend put the kitchen knife against the girlfriend's father's throat, too, when he responded to the commotion, but did not hurt him, according to CNN.

The woman is recovering from life-saving surgery after the father pleaded with his wife's attacker to drive her to the hospital, the Ocala StarBanner Reports.

The boyfriend allegedly extracted promises from the mother on the way to the hospital that she wouldn't interfere with their dating and that she wouldn't sue the teen, the Sentinel reports.

The teens were charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, but they were reportedly charged as juveniles.

The Huffington Post is withholding their names.

The teens initially denied any role in the attack, claiming that an intruder was behind the slashing, First Coast News reports.

They quickly confessed, Marion County sheriff's deputies claim, when confronted with affidavit accusations from the parents.

The teens plotted on the phone and via Facebook, according to the Associated Press.

A judge ordered them held in Marion County's Juvenile Detention Center without bond, according to News 13.
