Amanda Knox Confides In Exonerated Ryan Ferguson

Amanda Knox has found comfort and council from a man who may know a bit about what she's going through.

TODAY.com reports that Ryan Ferguson, who was recently released after spending 10 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, has become a "confidante" to Knox.

"I wanted to reach out to her because I’ve looked at the facts in her case, and I believe in her innocence 100 percent,’’ Ferguson told TODAY.com. “She was very supportive and helpful when I got out, and I want to be able to give back. I believe she’s nervous and a little scared, but overwhelmingly, I would say she has been positive."

Knox spent four years in an Italian prison after she was convicted of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher. She won her freedom last year on an appeal, but the Italian Supreme court struck down that ruling and ordered a new trial.

Knox has publicly supported Ferguson and appeared in a congratulatory tweet when he was released.

"We kind of had this connection in the sense that we've been through this justice system – although hers is in Perugia and mine is here. It's relatively the same," Ferguson told CNN. "We've been through this, and there's not a whole lot of people in this world that have dealt with wrongful conviction."

Ferguson expressed hope his friend would soon be fully cleared.

"... We all believe that justice will prevail and the facts that have proven her innocence will set her free,” Ferguson told ABC News.
