Telecom companies are so jealous of Apple's business that they are teaming up against the iPhone manufacturer. 24 telecom operators, including LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Sprint and AT&T have formed a global alliance to try and slow Apple's wireless growth. Will it work? Not a chance.

While revealing its new Windows Mobile operating system, Microsoft also announced that AT&T would be the first network to carry its new smart phone. While Microsoft is partnering with AT&T, its deal is not exclusive and the company has also been in talks with all of the major US wireless networks. The first Windows Mobile 7 phone is expected to be out by the end of the year.

Web TV viewers looking to watch Olympic events after the fact are finding themselves in trouble as NBC is placing many replayed events behind a wall. The official Olympic broadcaster is requiring web users to enter their name and cable or satellite account number into its website before viewing content like the figure skating. If you don't have your cable account information on hand, you'll be forced to watch edited highlights of the games.

NBC's coverage of the Olympic's is frustrating viewers who tuned in to watch Bode Miller in the Men's Downhill live yesterday afternoon. However, NBC had different plans, choosing to tape delay the event and broadcast it during primetime. Of course, the results of the downhill event hit the web and other outlets before the actual broadcast, making the event lackluster for viewers.
