Caps Winger Tom Wilson Injures Flyers' Brayden Schenn With Violent Hit (VIDEO)

Flyers Center Injured After Violent Hit

Flyers center Brayden Schenn was knocked out of the game in the second period on Tuesday night after Capitals winger Tom Wilson leveled him from behind into the boards.

Schenn got possession of the puck deep in his own zone and started making his way behind the net when Wilson came charging in. The 19-year-old drove his shoulder into Schenn's body and sent him crashing into the boards head first. An official immediately called a penalty while some players started fighting behind after the hit.

Schenn tried to quickly get up but couldn't stake off the ice under his own power. Trainers eventually escorted him off and the Flyers later announced that he would not return due to a "an upper-body injury."

Wilson received a game misconduct along with five-minute majors for fighting and charging.
