Is Jack Selby 'Tips For Jesus'? Mystery Tipper Is Allegedly Former PayPal Vice President

'Tips For Jesus' Identity Revealed?

The mystery Samaritan behind the outrageously generous "Tips For Jesus" spree may have been unmasked! Rumors have been floating about his identity since ValleyWag outed the mystery tipper last week, although they didn't reveal their source.

Waiter Aruj Dhawan of Bo's Kitchen in Chelsea told The New York Post that the man who left him a $1,000 tip was none other than former PayPal Vice President Jack Selby.

Dhawan told The Post that Selby was one of a "very well-dressed" group of three, who enjoyed $111.05 worth of beers, bourbon, pasta, shrimp, and pork chops.

As he went to drop off the check, Dhawan said that one of the men announced that he was about to "make my night."

The restaurant's manager, Benjamin Cramer, was curious about the motives behind the amazing tip. He told The Post, "I said, ‘Why tip so much?’ He said, ‘Just because.’ I was told, ‘We tip a hundred times the bill.’"

Jack Selby became extremely rich with the sale of PayPal to Ebay, and it seems that he's enjoying spreading the wealth.

His motives still aren't clear, though a tipster told Valley Wag that "all the Jesus talk is a joke."

Even if it is Selby, he probably isn't the only one behind "Tips For Jesus," as last week, tips were left in NYC and Mexico on the same night.

God knows what's really going on...
