Miranda Lambert Reveals Weight Loss Secrets, Admits She Can't Give Up Drinking

How Miranda Lambert Lost All That Weight

Miranda Lambert wowed fans when she stepped out looking slim and trim at the Country Music Awards last week, rocking a plunging blue dress on the red carpet.

But Lambert says her new figure is the result of some easy diet tricks she learned to get in shape before her 30th birthday. (She turned the big 3-0 on Nov. 10.)

"People think I lost more, but I'm short," Lambert told People of her weight loss. "I'm only 5'4" so when I gain, I gain everywhere, and when I lose, I lose everywhere."

The "Heart Like Mine" singer reveals she dropped the pounds the good old-fashioned way -- by exercising with a trainer and controlling her portion size. "I haven't given up everything!" she confessed. "I try to just cut everything in half."

Speaking of "everything," Lambert insists she could never give up alcohol, telling People, "All through my 20s I worked a lot -- I was on the road since I was 17 and the road life is a lot of fast food and a lot of late nights and a lot of drinking -- I didn't give up drinking. I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding!"

Her husband, of course, being Blake Shelton, who has been his wife's number one supporter throughout her weight loss journey.

"He said, 'I have never had a problem with any way you look at any point -- you are beautiful to me at any size and every size,'" Lambert explained of her man. "But he has been proud of my hard work on this. He brags on me. That makes me feel great."
