63 Percent Of People Have Already Started Holiday Shopping

Have you started making your Black Friday lists and checking them twice? Well, you're already behind.

Yep, people have already started shopping for the holidays -- as many as 63 percent of shoppers. Mobile shopping app Catalog Spree conducted its annual holiday shopping survey and found that over half of people polled have already started their holiday shopping process, and 30 percent started before Halloween.

Which means it's time to get cracking. According to a holiday shopping forecast from Adobe, we're on track to spend $1.6 billion on Black Friday alone this year, not to mention $1.1 billion on actual Thanksgiving. Aiding and abetting this spending frenzy is the fact that more stores than ever are going to be open on Thanksgiving Day, with Macy's opening at 8 p.m. that day and Kmart opening at the unseemly hour of 6 a.m.

Then there's Cyber Monday, which Adobe forecasts will see $2.27 billion in sales, making it the biggest online shopping day of the year. FedEx reportedly expects to ship 22 million packages this Cyber Monday (an 11 percent increase from last year)... and we all plan to waste countless hours that Monday morning at work ordering the stuff FedEx will later ship.

But hey, you can avoid all that Thanksgiving shopping madness if you just start now. Anyone else as stressed out by all this as we are?
