Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) star Brittney Griner made a groundbreaking announcement earlier this year when she came out shortly before the basketball association's annual draft.
Now, in a new interview with Elle magazine, Griner is dishing on her style, gender-bending, and the experience of being a rookie in the WBNA.
At one point, the WNBA star discusses a make-up class offered as part of her WNBA orientation:
At the WNBA’s rookie orientation, Griner says she declined to participate in a session about makeup application and how to dress. “I don’t need that shit,” she says without rancor, adding that the only lecture she appreciated was one on 401(k)s.
Elle's article goes on to note that while women are offered a make-up class in conjunction with orientation, "NBA rookies learn to beware of gold-digger groupies who might prick tiny holes in condoms."
The WNBA's make-up class has reportedly been explored by other media outlets, who previously stated that a third of the league's two-day orientation training is dedicated to "makeup, hairstyle and fashion tips."
The Huffington Post reached out to the WNBA regarding the classes, but did not immediately receive as response.
