Mark Parisi, Man Selling Testicle For $35,000, Discusses Nutty Decision

WHAT A NUT! Man Selling His Testicle For $35,000

In order to save a few bucks, a Las Vegas man is willing to lose something very precious -- one of his testicles.

Mark Parisi is a self-proclaimed tightwad who is so cheap that he is willing to have one of his nuts removed in order to earn $35,000.

"What you do is you go in and you donate one of your testicles, they replace it with an artificial one and when you check out after 14 days you get a check for $35,000," Parisi said on an episode of the TLC series "Extreme Tightwads" airing Nov. 6.

When he's not selling his balls, Parisi works as a marketer for an upscale coffee shop and bakery. He says participating in clinical trials helps him avoid spending his full-time salary.

There are other advantages to being a human Guinea pig: He gets free checkups, which can save him around $700.

Parisi estimates he's saved more than $150,000 over the past two years by participating in other medical studies, including an Ebola virus study that paid $5,000 a week, the Province Journal reported.

Amazingly, the testicle removal isn't the nuttiest trial Parisi wanted to do.

That dubious honor goes to the "flatline" study. In it, volunteers would agree to have their heart stopped.

“They stop your heart for one minute, but you still breathe,” Parisi said, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The 14-day study would have paid him $25,000, but, sadly for his bank account, the Food and Drug Administration nixed the study.
