'MythBusters' Tackle Zombies With 'The Walking Dead' Star Michael Rooker (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

'MythBusters' Gets Zombie-fied!

"The Walking Dead" is almost back (Season 4 premieres Sun., Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC), but we're just as excited to see the show get the "MythBusters" treatment.

Yep, "MythBusters" is tackling zombies (Thurs., Oct. 17 at 10 p.m. ET on Discovery) and they've got "The Walking Dead" star Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon!) on board to help them out. Watch our exclusive sneak peek, above, to see how he deals with the undead.

Yes, zombies are fictional, so technically you can't prove or bust myths about fictional ways to kill fictional undead, but the "MythBusters" stuck to some universally agreed-upon zombie tropes to make their experiments as real as fictional zombie experiments can be.

And in true "MythBusters" tongue-in-cheek style, the episode comes with a very special WARNING:

The following show contains gruesome images of the undead being hacked, whacked and smacked. Viewer discretion is advised. In addition, do not try what you are about to see at home -- all zombies used in this show were undead experts.

Tell us: Are you excited to see this epic mash-up of two geektastic, Comic-Con-favorite shows?

The "MythBusters" Zombie Special airs Thurs., Oct. 17 at 10 p.m. ET on Discovery.
