Mexican actor and filmmaker Diego Luna recently shared his views on the U.S. immigration policy, saying that the country can strengthen its borders, but that will not eliminate people’s drive to survive.

Luna stated,

“I’ve gone across that border many times, my son was born in the United States – he is also a Mexican-American with the two passports. So with this movie I want to bring that community and its neighbors closer together.”

Luna‘s next film, Chavez, will touch upon these very issues, since it deals with the survival of the Mexican community and the prejudice this community faces in the United States. Chavez tells the story of labor leader and civil rights advocate Cesar Chavez.
