Courtney Love Calls Miley Cyrus A 'Hillbilly,' Thinks Katy Perry Is 'Boring'

Courtney Love Calls Miley Cyrus A 'Hillbilly'

Count on Courtney Love to rock out and always give good copy.

The Hole front-woman played a set at the Dream Downtown Hotel on Monday to celebrate the new book of her drummer and the CEO of One Management, Scott Lipps. In between songs, she bestowed the audience with her thoughts on Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry.

"I liked Miley, frankly. I'm gonna be honest, Katy Perry bores the sh*t out of me. She's a nice girl, she just really bores me," the 49-year-old rock star told the crowd, according to the New York Post. "You know, that hillbilly Miley Cyrus is sort of punk in a weird sex way."

After the show she elaborated on her comments, seemingly referring to Cyrus' controversial VMA performance, telling the Post:

"[Perry] bores me. [Miley] was at least kind of punk rock, you know? It was openly sexual . . . like dark and hillbilly and f**ked up."

Love's quips about the two pop stars were a hot topic among the journalists in the crowd, and when the fashion site The Cut also asked about her thoughts on Perry, Courtney clarified, "I'm not trying to be a bitch — she's a nice girl. But she just bores me."
