Sharon Stone Tells Younger Actresses To Get Naked

Sharon Stone, who famously uncrossed and recrossed her sexy legs in the 1992 hit movie "Basic Instinct," has some advice for younger actresses: don't be afraid to get naked.

The '80s sex symbol said she can't understand actresses who sign on for lovemaking scenes only to make certain their bodies are buried in the duvet.

The 55-year-old mother of three told WENN: “I feel that it’s so disappointing in films when you see the comforter taped to someone’s chest. It takes you out of the scene and doesn’t protect you from something within the scene.

"My 'Lovelace' co-star Peter Sarsgaard said, 'When I'm in bed with someone and I get up to go to the bathroom, I don't take the comforter with me'," she added.

Opening this month, "Lovelace" details the life of porn star Linda Lovelace. Stone plays Linda's mother, while Sarsgaard plays Linda's abusive husband. Critics have given the movie mostly positive reviews, saying that the glamorous Stone is virtually unrecognizable as Dorothy Boreman.

Stone also told WENN about the time she explained her onscreen nudity to her father after he watched his daughter in "Basic Instinct."

She recalled, "I'm like, 'Well, yeah! I'm playing a sociopathic, sexual serial killer!' When it has common sense, it doesn't make sense to do something else. It really is the costume of your character. What else are you gonna do? It seems foolish to do something else and if you do something else, that distracts the audience if you're inauthentic. If you're inauthentically naked then it's distracting to the audience when you are naked."

Stone also talked sexuality at the age of 55 this summer, noting that plastic surgery -- for her -- isn't necessary. She said that, in the art of aging well, "there's this sexuality to having those imperfections. It's sensual."
