Herbert Eugene Miller, Cop, Allegedly Searched For Child Porn On Patrol Car Computer

Cop Searched For Child Porn On Patrol Car Computer: Feds

A Tennessee cop is accused of searching for pornographic images of underage girls on his patrol car computer.

Herbert Eugene Miller, an auxiliary officer with the Greeneville Police Department, was arrested Thursday on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, the Greeneville Sun reported.

On Aug. 4, Miller's supervisor was notified that the computer in Miller's patrol car logged multiple searches for child pornography, including "fifth grade girls" and "naked middle school girls," according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Smoking Gun.

The complaint also states that "corroborating evidence" links Miller to the searches.

The searches were performed on July 27, according to court documents obtained by the Johnson City Press.

Thousands of pornographic images -- more than 80 of which were child pornography -- were also allegedly found on the 45-year-old's computer.

Miller is no longer employed by the Greeneville Police Department, according to WJHL. He had been with the department since 2000 as a part-time, paid employee.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated that Miller is 44 and worked for the department for 12 years. He is 45 and has been with the department since 2000.
