Steve King Says Obama, Rodeo Clown Should Have Beer Summit: 'It's Not About Race'

King Encourages Beer Summit Between Obama, Rodeo Clown

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said President Barack Obama should invite a rodeo clown that mocked him during an appearance at the Missouri State Fair to a "beer summit" at the White House.

King tweeted the suggestion Friday, saying Obama shouldn't be mad over the incident because "it's not about race":

The rodeo clown, wearing an Obama mask, appeared ahead of the fair's bull riding event on Sunday. The announcer at the event asked the crowd if they'd like to see Obama run down by a bull.

Officials from the fair apologized for the incident, calling it "inappropriate and disrespectful."

King's not the only lawmaker to weigh in on the rodeo clown. On Wednesday, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) invited the rodeo clown to perform at a rodeo in his district.
