Bob Filner Completes 'Intensive Therapy' One Week Early

Bob Filner Is Cured, Apparently

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner (D) has finished "intensive therapy" at a behavioral counseling clinic, his chief of staff tells 10 News.

Chief of staff Lee Burdick confirmed to 10News that Filner began his therapy earlier than he had initially planned, and had completed the program as of Friday. According to Burdick, Filner had plans to return to San Diego on Friday.

During a July 26 press conference, Filner announced he would enter a two-week therapy program on August 5. He has been accused by 14 women of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior.

Though he has apologized for his behavior, Filner has resisted multiple calls to resign. On Friday, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Filner had "betrayed" his constituents and called on the mayor to step down.
