The television world was rocked by the death of Cory Monteith, star of Fox's "Glee," on Saturday, July 13.
He was 31.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones," reads a statement on behalf of "Glee" executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company.
Monteith has been on "Glee" since the beginning. He played Finn Hudson, football player and glee club captain. Much of Monteith's time on "Glee" was spent with his off-screen girlfriend Lea Michele, Rachel Berry to "Glee" fans. Their on-again/off-again relationship propelled the series through four seasons.

"Glee" is scheduled to return to Fox this fall. The series was recently renewed for Seasons 5 and 6.
