Aubrey Plaza On Her First Sex Scene: 'It Was A Nightmare'

Aubrey Plaza is best known for playing April on "Parks & Recreation," but the deadpan comic actress is also starring in "The To-Do List," in which she has her first sex scene.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Plaza describes what it was like to simulate fellatio, masturbation and penetration for the first time. “It was a nightmare,” she told the paper, which describes her as "smiling broadly" as she recounts the experience. “I was like, this is the weirdest acting job I’ve ever had in my life." (In the scene, her character is also losing her virginity.)

The indie comedy is based on director Maggie Carey's experiences as a teenager. It's a somewhat raunchy romp through a young woman's sexual awakening, but Carey insists that it's "not a romantic comedy." “Girls learn how to masturbate, too; we just haven’t seen it before,” Plaza added. Joining Plaza in the cast are Bill Hader (Carey's husband), Donald Glover, Andy Samberg, Clark Gregg and Connie Britton.

A red band trailer for "The To-Do List," a movie she awkwardly plugged by "pulling a Kanye" as Will Ferrell accepted an MTV Movie Award, is available above. The movie is out July 26.

For more, including some tidbits on Plaza's other movie, "About Alex," head over to the New York Times.
