Los Angeles folk rockers Dawes stopped in Chicago Monday night, playing a show on the Millennium Park's Pritzker Pavilion stage.

The band, comprised of brothers Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith plus Wylie Gelber and Tay Strathairn, played songs off their most recent album, this year's "Stories Don't End," as well as older gems. The Sun-Times noted the band said they'd never played to such a large crowd in Chicago before.

Also while in town, the band -- which some folks are looking at as the next Mumford & Sons or Lumineers-type act to make it big -- stopped by WXRT for a gripping in-studio performance of two songs off "Stories Don't End."

Chicago's own The Cairo Gang, named the city's best rock band by the Chicago Reader this year, opened the night.

Friend of HuffPost Joshua Mellin was at the show and shared some stunning shots.
