When it comes to wedding décor, I believe that less is more. Beautiful blooms combined with special touches here and there are all you need to complete a special look. Couples that deck their venue wall to wall with themed décor run this risk of looking tacky. With that said, here are some of my favorite trends you might want consider.

Burlap and lace: Just type these words into Pinterest and hundreds of boards dedicated to these mismatched fabrics will appear. This style is both feminine and rustic. Add a handful of mason jars and you've got yourself a timeless country chic affair.

Chalkboards: It is very easy to go overboard with this trend, beware! Chalkboards are cheap, fun and add tons of flair. I found a large 24x36 chalkboard already framed at Marshall's for $29.99 and decided to use it as our welcome sign. These are so many ways to work the boards into your event. Check out this fantastic tutorial on chalkboard lettering and get crafty with your bridal party.

Vintage furniture: A couple of antique furniture pieces at a wedding always makes me swoon. Whether your style is retro or whimsical, rent a vintage loveseat or a shabby chic table to tie your entire look together. Just two or three statement pieces (yes, kind of like jewelry!) are all you need.

Bistro lighting: String lights make a space feel so intimate and magical. Incorporate them into your ceremony or reception décor, but keep in mind that string lights don't work for every venue. Some ballrooms for example won't let you hang anything from the ceiling. Save money and time by selecting a space already equipped like this romantic courtyard.
