Baseball Marriage Proposal: Soldier Surprises Girlfriend With On-Air Proposal (VIDEO)

Just nine days after returning home to Georgia from Afganistan, First Lt. Ariel Castro had something special he wanted to ask his girlfriend of two years, Cherie Byron.

On Sunday, the two went to Turner Field to watch the Atlanta Braves take on the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a Tribute to the Troops event put on by the Braves and Fox Sports South, Fox Sports reported Sunday. During the third inning, the couple was interviewed on-camera by a Fox Sports reporter, and that's when Castro decided to pop the question (watch the video above to see the adorable proposal..

After playfully punching Castro on the arm, Byron said, "Yes."

Earlier this month, a Marine proposed to his girlfriend at a baseball game -- but they weren't sitting in the stands. They got engaged on the field after throwing out the first pitch. A photo of another proposal at a baseball game went viral when it was pointed out that a woman in the stands looked a little annoyed by the happy moment.
