2013 NBA Draft Results: First Round Picks Begin With Anthony Bennett, Nerlens Noel Trade

Complete First-Round NBA Draft Results

As predicted, the 2013 NBA Draft was unpredictable.

After NBA Commissioner David Stern put them on the clock, the Cleveland Cavaliers elicited a GIF-ready gasp from Bill Simmons of ESPN and began the Canadian takeover of the NBA Draft by selecting Anthony Bennett out of UNLV with the No. 1 pick.

The intrigue didn't slow after Bennet came off the board as center Nerlens Noel -- a player who had topped many mock drafts -- sat in the green room as the next four picks were announced. After Victor Oladipo, Otto Porter, Cody Zeller and Alex Len had the chance to shake hands with Stern, Noel finally got himself a new cap. That official piece of NBA merchandise bore the words "New Orleans Pelicans" but it was soon reported that the former Kentucky standout was on the move. Despite promising to start "a shot blocking party" when he got to New Orleans, Noel was quickly dealt to Philadelphia, as first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
